Yuletide Cheer

Ah the holidays. Such a wonderful time of year when we join with family and friends to celebrate our many blessings. We had a great time in Utah which was complete with snow, great food, family and lots of cousins. The only thing missing was Austin.
Each of our kids created their own memories, whether it was Hyrum going on his third trip this year to the airplane museum - his favorite place in Utah and a must see every time we go. Or his light sabers that he made out of wrapping paper rolls, tape, and some nickels and pennies after watching Star Wars with his uncle. Or perhaps his video game tournaments with whoever was available. (Alex, Paige, Eldon, Kendrick, grandpa, grandma, Muki, Olivia, etc.) These were fierce in their competitive nature and could last until the wee hours of the morning if not monitored.
Olivia's favorite things of the season were the wrapping paper and its tear-ablility. Muki's food and water dish. The Christmas tree with all of it's sparkling and fragile ornaments. Muki's ears. Muki's tail. Some random straws, paper bags, spoons, lids, and pieces of string left on the floor. The first entyway stair which she enjoyed climbing and falling down in various order. And of course, her family.

Paige loved all of her cousins, especially the girls. She would follow them around all day if she could. She also enjoyed some bonding time with Ashtyn who has taught her how to appreciate such things as toe polish, high fashion footwear, and sweet smelling bodysprays. Paige came down with a nasty cold and was sick for a few days. Mom would ask her if she needed a tissue often. One day Paige came up to her mom and said, "Tish-me". Mom didn't get it and so she asked if she needed a tissue. Paige nodded and said "Tish-me!"

We love our families and although we are far away from them we are grateful they remember us and that we are able to spend time and make great memories with them.

Aleese and Scott said...

Sounds like you had a great time in Utah, but you didn't mention that Aleese and Scotty were missing too (and baby Barrick, haha). That's alright though, we know you missed us.....well at least Aleese and Barrick! Anyways, the kids as always are so cute and we love seeing and hearing all the news in your lives. Say hi to the kids for us!
